Services that is Offered as Cosmetic Dentistry

from:

The well being of a person is one of the basic needs for survival of human. When well being is at reference, cleanliness is always attributed to it. There are so many aspects in the human physiology that this issue can be connected to. The most notable physical evidence that a person is healthy is his/her outward appearance. This includes the texture and composition of the skin, the cleanliness of mouth, and other hygienic issues. Oftentimes, the face is the most and immediate seen part of the human body; thus, having it to look as presentable as one can is an important matter.

Of all the parts if the human face, the easiest to reconstruct is none other that the teeth. Aside from chewing and cutting food, the teeth of a person also serve as a social magic tool. Often times, because it is located in the facial area, the appearance of the teeth can make or break a particular social interaction.

Who would like to have misaligned or discolored teeth? In order to address this problem a particular medical practitioner should be consulted. The dentists are the ones who studied and practiced about the procedures to be done in order to give protection and medical intervention to any problem relating to human teeth and mouth. Dentistry has several disciplines of studies such as orthodontics among others.

Today, there are so the cosmetic dentistry. Cosmetic dentistry is technically not a particular branch or discipline of dentistry. It is just a term associated with any intervention in the teeth or mouth a particular person that is more concerned to the reconstruction for appearance enhancement.

Before, the main concern of dentistry is the removal of cavity-affected teeth and replacing it with artificial ones and other services such as aligning overlapping teeth, etc. In cosmetic surgery, aside from this cardinal services, there are also services added which can, according to many practitioner “an ego boosting interventions.” Of course there is no single man living on earth who would want to be rejected. And in order not to be rejected, looking presentable is one resort to do.

Cosmetic dentistry offers many other services aside from the conventional one offered in general dental clinics. Here are just a few of the services offered in many cosmetic dental clinics:

1.) Whitening – TV commercials often offers toothpaste with a capacity to whiten teeth. However, oftentimes, these claims are simply do not materialize. The discoloration of the tooth is caused by many factors; most of the time it is associated with the food eaten by a person. At times it can be an effect of smoking or drinking too much acidic liquors. Procedures such as laser cleaning are just one of the effective ways to restore the color teeth to white.

2.) Enameloplasty – this is a process in which the enamel of the tooth is scrapped so that it will follow the shape of other teeth. The enamel is the outermost layer of the tooth.

3.) Tooth reshaping – tooth reshaping is very common reconstruction that is made to human teeth. There are several tools that a dentist may use to do this procedure.

4.) Bonding – this is a process of forming a particular substance to a particular shape of a broken tooth. This is done so that extracting the tooth can be avoided.

5.) Dental bridges, braises, and other cosmetic reconstruction in the mouth area such as gum lift, etc.
